Updating data

The data entered into the computer's memory ( i.e. secondary storage ) can have wrong entries.Such wrong entries reads to the wrong decision. So, the data fed into the computer are to be checked for correctness and detected errors are to be corrected which is known as editing. To enter new data to make the change in the data file and keep it the correct form si known as updating data.
The entry operator who has entered, might have done the mistakes while inputting data for S.L.C.(School Leaving Certificate) result processing. So we might have entered wrong code number of the school or wrong name marks in the subjects etc. Which must be corrected before processing. Other wise a passed student may fail or failed student may pass in the actual result.
