Central Processing Unit

The Central Processing Unit is the brain of the computer.The function of C.P.U. to store temporarily current data and execute programs.The C.P.U also controls the operations of input and output devices and memory. Under the control of C.P.U.,data  and programs are stored in the memory  and displayed on the monitor or screen and printed on the printer.The major sections of C.P.U are:
  1. Arithmetic and Logic Unit 
  2. Primary Memory
  3. Control Unit
