The unit which controls and coordinates the functions of Tape Unit, Card Reader, Printer Unit, E.D.S., F.D.S. and terminal, is called Device Control Unit (D.C.U.). It provides the necessary instructions to such units as mentioned in the program. The device control unit are available only in mainframe and mini computers.
