PS/2 Model Computers

IBM Company started manufacturing next model of computers in 1990. This model is called PS/2 (Personal System - 20) model computers. Most of the computers manufactured after 1990, including laptop computers belong to these model. The PS/2 model computer uses new refined  architecture. The PS/2 is the new generation of personal computers. 2 stands for second generation. The keyboard used with PS/2 keyboards can perform several functions which cannot be performed by original IBM PC AND PC / X.T. Generally, PS/2 uses 3.5 inch floppies and OS/2 Operating System or UNIX operating  system.
PS/2 micro computers are used for general purpose computation. They can run word processing , spread sheet, database management, accounting packages, and users can use high level languages (BASIC, FORTRAN, COBOL) with their PS/2 computers.
