One of the common example of input device is the keyboard.The data and programs are entered into a computer's memory through a keyboard.The keyboard is connected to a micro computer or terminal of mainframe and mini computers.The keyboard of the computer is similar to the key board of a typewriter.
A keyboard contains alphabets, numbers and some special characters.It also has some control keys.Where ever we press a character on the keyboard we get the sane on the screen.This process of displaying characters on the screen are explained below:
When ever we press a key on the key board an electronic signal is generated and it is detected by a circuit called Keyboard Encoder.The keyboard encoder generates a binary code(combination of 1's and 0's corresponding to that key).This binary code (e.g. A.S.C.II code) is sent to the computer.
