Those computers having the same functional characteristics of IBM computers are called IBM compatibles. The IBM compatibles are not the original IBM computers but their basic architecture is similar to IBM. All the software or program which run in IBM computer can equally run in IBM compatibles. Sometimes the IBM compatibles are also referred as duplicate IBM.. The IBM compatible computers are cheaper and their parts are easily available in the market. Therefore, they are being popular in the world. One of the important fact is that most of the micro computers available in Nepal are IBM compatibles.
