Introduction
Whenever we talk about computers, we visualize the physical parts of computers and non physical parts like programs. A complete computer system can be studied under two headings:
i. Hardware
ii. Software
These two aspects of computer study are interrelated and interdependent. The study of one aspect is incomplete unless the second is included. Without the software the hardware of computer system becomes like a dead body without soul or mind. So, the software of computer system is  like our brain and hardware is just like our body.
Hardware:
The physical components of computer are called hardware Computer hardware consists of those components which can be touched and felt. Such components may be electronic, electrical, mechanical, etc. For example, the following are the major hardware components:
Monitor, keyboard, printer, plotters, micro processor, I.C.(Integrated Circuits), hard disk, floppy disk, etc.
Computer hardware has the functions to use software, displaying the necessary information on the screen, accepting and storing data properly, performing necessary manipulation on data, processing data and finally displaying the result on the screen(monitor) or printing and so on. Thus, we can say that hardware assists in every step to carry out different computer operations.
